| Thedryker, I don't know how you measured your gpu temp, but in the review i used a pretty accurate temp probe glued to the edge of the core. I don't think off-die sensors get any more accurate than that. Also, the 9600XT is made on .13u process, instead of .15u, which makes it produce much less heat.

| doesn't the 9600XT has an internal temp diode readout? or does the 9800XT only have that?

| The 9600XT does have an internal temp diode. I am getting the temp through the overdrive tab in advanced settings. And maybe it is the smaller process that makes it so much cooler. |

| Very helpful articles. Was in the process of purchasing a 9800 XT and bought the Arctic Cooler VGA from newegg. Dumb question (I guess)- is it very complicated to install the Arctic Cooler onto the card prior to installation of the card ? I am by no means a hardware expert. Is there a guide for doing this ? |

| It's easier to install than the Zalman 80A/C-HP, but you still have to be carefull. I took some step by step pictures, hope this helps: http://www.madshrimps.be/?action=get...&articID=14 9
