- apache + mysql + php have all the freeware for storage + mail + apps + .... - that data stored on raid 1 on server - scheduled daily backup of data to spare pc in other room (if server should crash that spare pc will do the server's job ... downtime ± 10 min.) - all other pc's are "dumb" machines, just throw OS + office + virusscanner + VNC on it, nothing more, nothing less .. almost there, just need a good freeware agenda/scheduler and i'm done

| uhm.. the network storage can be running linux with samba, all you need or Win2000/2003 with RIS server configured, and SMS server, best solution yet for 1000+ PC's
