Just fired it up

works pretty fine. You don't need a guide. Just some basis knowledge of linux (how to edit a file) combined with knowledge of folding configuratio and setting it up is a piece of cake.

Only thing what could have been mentioned bit more clear was the login details

root
0verf0ld1x

(instead of just taking root as pass or something ...)

You only need to edit client.cfg (otherwise you will be folding for the wrong team + configure proxy etc)

foldon
foldoff

to turn folding on and off

that's about it.

Remeber it's copied to your ram so you will have to reconfigure each time you reboot.

didn't try that but future version are supposed to support some sort of HD to store some stuff. Problem is that the work files (and core executables) take up several MB's so fitting them on one floppy will be difficult I guess. But indeed perhaps it is possible to copy the config file from disk so it's faster to set up after a reboot.

Too bad the project is sort of frozen ATM.

But it was just the thing I was looking for because the HD of my second PC is broken. So by folding on that system too, I got more chance of winning a new HD for that system :-)

It's not that difficult:
- boot the machine with the bootcd and plug the machine to the network (if you have a dhcp running on your ICS gateway it wil get its network config automagically)
- log in:: username root, password: 0verf0ld1x
- press foldoff
- go to /var/run/FAH dir with the command: cd /var/run/FAH
- press "vi client.cfg"
- move you cursor to the appropriate position of editting and press "i" to start editing the text. Press delete button to remove redundant info. For correct configuration look at your windows client.cfg file (there might be redundant info that can be left out, just adjust the wrong info).
- When done press "ESC" and press ":x" to save the file and exit
- press foldon to start the folding =
- to look at the folding progress, press "vi FAHlog.txt" and "ESC" followed by ":q!" to exit without saving

That about the it for a complete linux n00b to start using 0verf0ld1x.

Notes:
- It's all qwerty baby
- vi is a pretty standard editor for linux. For more details you van always ask me or look on the internet.
- Unfortunaly the manpages (helpfiles of linuxcommands) have been stripped out.

yes jasje I know, only I learned to work with vi so I explain it with the thing I know best. I just wrote it for ppl with no linux experience, if you are a linux user, u should be able to install it on your own.
