like I said, putting them in raid... only if you get CF>SATA/PATA connector and then hook them up; and again: overhead, you won't get the performance you are hoping for, especially READ performance will be poor

Simply changing from a 1gb to a C2D system with 2gb dropped my HL2 load times down to just a couple seconds instead of half a minute. Almost every game should show some good decreases in load time with 2gb of RAM.

Although if this is for a XP2600 CPU, you might simply eyeball a new platform upgrade. Or at least consider it before ya go investing in DDR1 RAM at this point...
