Woops, the fan on my PIII (wich was taped on temporary) got loose because of the heat. Thing was running 70°c full load. Conclusion, or tape hates me, or tape doesn't like hot weather (like me, maybe we have a lot in common, we could even get friends (ok, going outside, it's getting too hot :^) )

Problem: "Woops, the fan on my PIII (wich was taped on temporary) got loose because of the heat. Thing was running 70°c full load." Solution: Visit http://www.koolsolutions.net/, buy a CV-18 and throw the heatsink fan away. The 80mm fan in the Chill Vent will provide more airflow over your heatsink with no dead spots under the fan hub. Chill Vent, although made for Socket A & P4 works on every Socket 370 I've tried it on. "we could even get friends..." Hmmm, as a last resort, that might just work too.

Not needed, it's an 80mm fan on a 70mm heatsink, it's deadspot is moved from the center to the side plus it is quiet and cool (38° load or something). It's taped back on it

My bad...had the impression in my mind you would be using a 50 or 60mm fan on a smaller heatsink. "Cooling: farts"

| Heat wave here, yesterday it topped 34°C in the shade and 36°C without the house A/C on in the house. Today, it is the same but more humid. Under the same condition, I know some folks still proudly report their CPU temp less than 30°C and with excellent system temp too. Water cooling rig will even be with lower temp; naturally guys using 120mm fan on Thermalright cooler without any sound are breezing with cool air

roomtemp here topped at 35°c. CPU and chip are doing 50°c during BF2 and fans are noisy . But it's just too hot, half our grass has even turned brown and we give it water every day (to cool our garden a bit).
