| New cooler arrived today (thanks Dave). Sadly my wife took my digital camera with her on her business trip to Greece and of course according to Murphy my other dig. camera decided to die today So no pictures (use your imagination instead). The heatsink is a Thermalright HR-03 rev A. Installation was a breeze. I'm used to the Zalman products but this one is equally well designed. Only disadvantage is that 2 of the 4 mem chips have smaller RAM sinks due to the fact that the heatpipes pass directly over them. I did notice - when removing the original cooler - that an excessive amount of thermal paste had been applied . A nice bath of isopropyl alcohol took care of that (while using a different type of alcohol for yours truly ). Cooler installed, card plugged in, it's testing time. First a test without the recommended 92mm fan. With passive cooling idle temp at default clock speeds is 53°C. With the original Zotac cooler it was 51°C. Not bad. When using a 120mm ex-Scythe Ninja fan (49,58CFM) temps dropped back to 38°C. If the card survives untill the end of august, it'll become part of my media center PC. Final fan will be a PAPST 4118N/6XMV 120mm 152,9CFM 60dBA 48V fan or a PAPST 6248N 172mm 241CFM 55dBA 48V fan . But I'm still looking for a 48V Power supply. At the moment I've only got one of 22V After that it'll be volt modding time. Hopefully some pics on sunday evening. Now it's dodo time ... some of us have a job to go to in the morning...

| According to their site it's only compatible with the 8800GTX and GTS models.

| http://www.legionhardware.com/pic.ph...s/Image_03.jpg I'm not sure it'll fit. As you can see the part which comes in contact with the core is much wider. It could be that it'll block the mounting holes.

| if it blocks the mounting holes you could still mount it at an angle (so the sides of the base run parallel to the core's diagonals ). Probably needs some bending and twisting so it won't touch the motherboard. |

| Core and memory won't go above 680/820. Core seems to automatically scale back when above 680. Mem gives artifacts when going above 820. Don't know if a V-mod will help if I'm already having problems at 820Mhz on the mem.
