Ok, I went out today and got some oraganizers for the "shop" . I also got some other things such as respirator masks (so i don't cough and die), and 10 metal files for when I cut.

Today All I managed to get done (so far) was finsish sanding the top, and 1 of the sides. I might be able to sand everythign by tonight.

QUESTION: When sanding the parts, I am using a 100grit sandpaper, which is working well. Should I just leave it at 100, or sand up to, oh say 600? I know I sand the layers of paint when I paint, but not sure on how high a grit I should go on the bare material.

Also I know the color scheme. Gonna go w/ all gloss black (almost mirror finish) on the outside. And on the inside sand and polish it to look brushed. The top will have 3 seperate windows that will be cut to look more modern.

Any suggestions?

oh and jmke, where should i host the pics?

p.s. pics to follow when I'm done for the night (3-4 hrs)

Try using 400 or 600 Grit for smoothing finish; 100 may be too coarse.

Ok, I got everything sanded w/ 100 gt. Top, sides, and the front (sort of...read more)

Went to home depot, got organizers (see pic) and files (see pic) for cutting, later on .

Then I came home, organized, and started to finish sanding the parts. Everything was easy to sand/clean, but the front. The front panel is gonna have some major changes to it w/ some bondo body filler. I'm gonna make the whole design of the case more rugged and try to take out all the curves. The front panel I will try to make completely flat, except towards the bottom, have it sort of come out a little.

For the color sceme I'm going to have the entire thing glossy black. And have then interior of the case brushed metal. The top will have 3 seperate windows with molding around them so it looks clean .

If you look at the pic that shows a "door" in the front panel, this is gonna be really cool. The case had this already on it, you press a button above the "door" and the "door" slowly opens, its real neat. I will probably put a musketeer there, or something good looking

Still not sure on what I'm gonna put in the pc. I think i'm going to take my dads old hp, still fairly usable for internet and put that in there. but thats wayy down the road.

THUMBNAILS! yay
