Hi,I have a BFG FX 5900 and I tried this bios file Drozdov gave and nothing happened.I mean nothing at all.I used nvflash.

I renamed the file to n5950u.rom

Booted up to the disk.
Typed nvflash -b original.rom."It said it saved it"
Then typed in nvflash -f n5950u.rom and it scrolled down showing some commands."I think it was showing the readme file that was on the disk.
But I couldn't figure out how to reboot.I hit "y" and hit enter and it said bad command name or something. So I just held in the power button to turn off the pc.Took out the disk and booted it back up and there was no change what so ever.I did it again with out renaming the bios file and left it at BFG 5950u 256.ROM and typed in nvflash -f BFG 5950u 256.ROM -u -p and still no change.

Any ideas on why it wouldn't change at all.Im far from complaining cuz atleast it didnt mess up or something crazy. I just dont understand why it wouldnt work at all.Ah,but now Im seeing Apoc is saying something about nvflash -r .I'll wait a few mins to see if anyone has any ideas on this before I try nvflash -r.

Thx for any help on this!

Well I did it! It did work. Now I just need to keep my eye on the temp.I only play one game "Counter strike" and thats about all I do on the pc besides surf the net and what not.The core is at default 475 and the memory is at default 950.So we shall see.My temp looks alittle higher than before, but I just did it a few mins ago and its at 45 C.I just jumped onto a pub and played for a min or two and hit the windows key and went to check my temp on the card and it was at 57 C. so all seems ok for now.

I used this link aswell to help me out with the flash.

I have a BFG Asylum FX 5900 128.I used and did what it said on this link.

So good job people.

Oh and I dont think I even need to overclock the card.My fps in CS seems alittle more stable at the default clock speeds

Hey there,
I saw people talking about flashing the Club3d5900xt (blue) with the XFX bios cause people on GOT tried it...
I also have the Club3d and I've been participating from the beginning of the thread and also tried the bios...
IT WORKED FOR ONLY ONE PERSON but try it if you want (it want harm you at the moment), just to let you know...
I learned (and readed) that the more times you flash with another manufacturers Bios, the more your bios seems to become @#$%#@!!!!!

But for people wantin' to try more Bios files:

http://www.mvktech.net/download.php

BUT don't use the CLUB3D bios 5900xt rev1 'cause it won't work AND you'll need a PCI VGA card to reflash your bios...
I had a spare one luckily!!!

Succes ermee...

I have a Evga 5900 se, and I tried the leadtek bios, which worked, but I got video problems in windows xp. I then used nvflash 4.41 and tried the gainward bios, and it worked without any problems. For some reason I got "flashing graphics, and out of sync video card in XP with the leadtek bios, but with the gainward, it all works fine, so Im happy. TY

I was wondering: does it really matter with which program I'd flash my card?
I always use wfflash, 'cause that's the easiest one...

Default Cooling & Performance Issues

I see others have the PNY FX 5900 card like myself which is essentially a stock FX 5900 card with a single fan and heatsink which looks like:

Not the best cooling solution out there!! Not even a heatsink on the back. You've probably noticed that the FX 5950's, 5900 ultra's and even some of the 5900nu's have much better cooling solutions. So what are you softmoders with cards like mine doing to better your cooling performance if anything and what kind of performance and stability are you getting with or without a better cooling solution? Also do any of you know how to moniter the fan performance on these stock FX 5900 cards?? Thanks for your responses!!!
