| this one(http://www.vr-zone.com/reviews/Chaintech/7NJS/ ) looks like it performs well and tones got it in stock. It's a little more money but you get firewire, rounded cables, and a bracket to connect everything from the front.performance is like the asus. i'm getting old cause i've put the wrong url here is where they compare the asus with the chaintech http://www.ocworkbench.com/2002/chai...njs/7njsp1.htm |

| i can see in the test that the mb from chaintech doesn't support fsb speeds above 200Mhz, bummer. what i do see is that 2x256mb 266mhz performs better than 2x256mb 400mhz ??? RB can you check this in some way plz.? |

| Running your memory at a faster speed than your front size bus has no positive effect when you have an AMD proc and dual channel ddr. With dcddr, your memory bandwith is exactly the same as the front size bus can handle, so increasing the memory speed has no effect at all unless you increase the front size bus too...

| not true, only on epox, i checked http://www.deviantpc.com/reviews/nfo...up/index.shtml The EPoX board, following an announcement that their KT400 board has the ability, via a BIOS flash to "software" unlock a Thoroughbred processor. Since the introduction of the XPs, unlocking AMD CPUs is a much more drawn out task than simply pencilling in a few bridges. EPoX have brought the ease back to overclocking with this additional feature. This functionality has also been implemented in the nForce 2, flashing to the 2c03 beta BIOS allows all multiplier selections to work. Coupled with the fact the 8RDA+ follows EPoX's tradition of high CPU vCore ability of 2.300v, this offers the user a much greater freedom for overclocking, and as such is a massive thumbs up for EPoX, contending to take the performance crown. Unlike the EPoX, the Leadtek CPU multiplier settings cannot be changed (even with a BIOS upgrade) limiting the overclocking potential of this 2700+ Thoroughbred, despite the inclusion of an overclock utility, and settings in the BIOS to facilitate it (2.000v max voltage and 200MHz+ FSB options). The A7n8x does not yet have the ability to software unlock a processor via the BIOS alone. I've been scouting around the AMDForums to see what other users have to say about this. There are a few beta BIOSes floating around at the time of writing that seem to allow unlocking on "some" CPUs, but in the main, a modification of the processor is still required. Like the Leadtek nForce 2, this limits the overclocking potential of an unmodified CPU, unlike the EPoX 8RDA+. fek!

| If my mem could handle this kind of FSB, I'd had a bad *** benching machine. :^)
