| Ok this is what I did this morning. 1. reinstalled the cpu. The tried to boot with cpu mobo and graka. All fans work but no beeps or image on the screen. 2. After that I did a clr cmos for almost 30 seconds. Everything works. The post screen says: "Cmos Checksum error - Defautls loaded". 3. Installed harddisk. Boot. Same problem as step 1. 4. Repeated step 2. Ran powermax. Harddisk is errorfree. 5. Installed keyboard. Same problem as 1 and 3. 6. Repeated step 2. Windows boot logo stays on for more than 1 hour. at +- 14h Windows is loaded. Beats me what the problem is. :| :/ I'm guessing mobo (Cmos checksum error). I phoned bytes@work and he told me to mail support@dfi.nl and give them my serial number and ask a new mobo. |

Needless to say you probably paid alota money for shipping the board. Now you have to RMA the board to the Netherlands AGAIN with your own money. It's like that board is el cheapo, at least they have to take their clients seriously | |

| But the problem stays even if I don't use that IDE cable. I'm doing a burn in test on the maxtor now. I just got to be sure it's not the harddisk. |

| Looks like a dead thread to me I've bought myself 4 sticks of BH6 (ex-biCkers) and an OCZ booster. But some how I can't get past 258Mhz :s. Do I have such bad luck? Now I'm stuck with 6sticks of BH5/6 . It make me think it's board limited, cos all the sticks have the same max. But I've seen people hitting 170FSB on 3/5 divider (290Mhz of RAW power :grin . Is 270FSB too much asked Can somebody lend me some ram that can do 300+mhz on lose timings (2.5-7-3-3). I'll swear/promise I take good care of it |

| 260-265 is usually the cap for BH-5/6 on i875/865 chipsets, I suppose it's the same for i855 chipset. There are very few people who have crossed that barrier on i855 chipset and they are the top dogs in their game. Also, there isn't much ram that can do 300 mhz only tccd (and depending on the bios, EB's on A64) but a lot of people are having problems getting their tccd equiped mem to run so high on Intel. But you can borrow mine if you want 285 is about the max on 2.5-3-3-7 though |

| Winbond chips in general perform much worse on those intel chipsets you mentioned. you will often see at least 20mhz higher overclocks on a64 systems. those chipsets also have problems with tccd, it won't run dividers (or at least 5/4 doesn't boot) and it's the same story in terms of overclocking. you'll see much higer overclocks on a64 with the same sticks. (mine seem to be an exception to this rule though, if I remember correctly they do 285'ish on both P4 and A64 but I didn't spend much time on eather ) I'm from Lubbeek, close to Leuven but maybe this is something for you? http://www.madshrimps.be/forums/show...threadid=13708 There will be plenty of memory to sattisfy your needs and since you have an Aopen board, mounting a DI container should be no problem, only thing is, we need a higher multi chip yours already tops out because of the fsb limit and mine only has 1 higher multi and it's a (don't remember, the poorer Intel overclockers... Malaysia? Phillipines? Costa Rica? ...) *edit* Phillipines are the sucky overclockers |
