| Youtube is Cracking Down on Duplicate Videos As part of an effort to more strictly regulate YouTube, Google quietly announced that its cracking down on duplicate YouTube videos. Google says they've removed many channels from the Youtube Partner Program, and that creators have a 30 day window to reapply. Youtube isn't just targeting copyright issues, as they claim they're looking to remove spammy automated content and straight up reuploads that don't violate the law, but don't add any new content to the video. It's important to note that "duplicative content" is not just about copyright. The spirit of this YPP policy is to make sure we"re only allowing channels into the program when the content adds value, and is original and relevant. If you upload content from multiple sources or repurpose existing content, you may still be eligible for YPP so long as you're contributing to the value of that content in some way. For example, if you add significant original commentary, educational value, narrative, or high quality editing, then your channel may be fine to monetize. http://www.hardocp.com/news/2018/10/...licate_videos/ |
