 |  Xiaomi has midrange phone plans Leaker spills the beans Xiaomi’ is planning to claw back some of its global smartphone share with some natty mid-range phones with some smart camera features. According to leaker @korean_riceball the move will counter falling demand for handsets – particularly premium phones which cost too much to be viable for an annual upgrade. According to @korean_riceball, Xiaomi’s mid-range smartphones will feature 200MP cameras, along with larger sensor sizes to mitigate the diminishing returns of using high-megapixel-count hardware with smaller sensors. The main camera will have another large sensor that supports 4x optical zoom which is better than the iPhone 14 Pro Max which costs $1,099 but is limited to 3x optical zoom. Xiaomi also aims to improve battery capacities, using 5,000mAh cells that support 120W of fast charging.
