Default X1800 XT with Catalyst 5.11

"There's certainly a hell of a lot of promise in ATI's Radeon X1800XT, and we hope that it will become readily available and competitive with the lower clocked GeForce 7800 GTX's on price. When that happens, there shouldn't be any negative thoughts entering your mind when you're considering dropping your hard earned cash on one of these babies. "

if you have 2 products whose performance is similar, go with the cheaper part.. unfortunately that's NOT the X1800XT ...

so what negative thought enters my mind? "too expensive".. that's right!

even more irritating : though here in Belgium we still have no shop even reporting a date for the arrival of the new cards, ati states that the new gpu based on r580 will be available january-february 2006 (in two months)
soon we'll have availability of the latest flagship the very moment the current flagship is reviewed.

nono,
you didn't understand, I meant : soo we'll have availability of the previous flagship the very moment the current flagship is reviewed, ati talks of launching the r580 in two months (paperlaunching) and the x1800xt isn't even here yet...
