n addition to the end-user-oriented SiliconEdge Blue, Western Digital has this week started to ship the new SiliconDrive N1x 2.5-inch SSDs which are aimed to be used for applications like automotive and transportation, data center, communications infrastructure, video surveillance and industrial automation.

WD's drives are equipped with SLC (single-level cell) NAND Flash memory, go from 32GB to 128GB in terms of capacity, and have a SATA 3.0 Gbps interface, TRIM and NCQ support, a MTBF of 1.4 million hours, and maximum read/write speeds of 240/140 MB/s.
