6.41-inch AMOLED screen and Snapdragon 660 SoC

vivo is serious about using under-display fingerprint scanner in as many smartphones as it can, and the latest one, dubbed vivo V11Pro, is likely to be the first mid-range smartphone with such technology.

While we expect to see more and more smartphones that will be switching to the under-display fingerprint scanner, the vivo V11Pro could be the cheapest one around, at least judging from the specifications.

Although a mid-range smartphone, the vivo V11Pro will still pack a 6.41-inch AMOLED screen FHD+ (2340x1080) resolution screen with a smaller waterdrop notch, housing the front 25-megapixel camera with f/2.0 lens. It also uses the same dual rear camera as the vivo X21, with 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensors.

vivo also updated the rest of the hardware side with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 660 SoC, and while it might not be the latest high-end SoC, it is a big improvement over the Snapdragon 626 on the vivo V9. This is an octa-core SoC with four 2.2GHz Kryo 260 and four 1.8GHz Kryo 260 cores, as well as an Adreno 512 GPU, all with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD card slot.

The rest of the features include a micro USB port, 3,315mAh battery, usual connectivity options, and the aforementioned under-display fingerprint scanner.

vivo will include some of those AI technologies for the camera as well as the Face Access and Jovi AI Engine, both part of its Funtouch 4.5 UI that will be running on top of the Android Oreo 8.1.

On a similar note, vivo will apparently launch the vivo V11i as well, which will run on Mediatek's Helio P60 with 4GB of RAM, and a smaller 6.3-inch 2280x1080 AMOLED screen, but we guess that the V11 version will be a bit more popular.

vivo will be holding a special launch event for the V11 and V11i in India tomorrow where we will hear more about the actual price and availability details.
