| US IT jobs slump as AI takes over Only 700 new IT jobs added across the entire US The US added only 700 IT jobs compared to 267,000 the year before and AI adoption might be to blame, according to a study of US Bureau of Labor Statistics data. The study found that while there were few new jobs added there are still loads of empty roles, with some 88,000 still up for grabs. However tech consultancy Janco Associates Victor Janulaitis said that there are nearly 100,000 unfilled jobs and more than 101,000 jobless IT Pros -- a skills gap. It appears the industry is facing a correction following pandemic overstaffing, while heading into a brave new world where a lot of tech talent will have to learn new skills because AI is being shoved wherever top dogs can fit it, Janulaitis said. https://fudzilla.com/news/ai/58223-u...-ai-takes-over |
