The hard drive cases allow users to protect their SATA hard drives and connect them to a notebook or PC via USB 3.0. The new USB 3.0 SuperSpeed standards allows users to copy HD-movies and back up important documents as fast as never before. The new standard supports data transfer rates of up to 5 Gbps, ten times faster than the USB 2.0 HighSpeed standard that supports a rate of 480 Mbps. Both hard drive cases are made from sturdy aluminum, ideal for protecting valuable data. The casings of the MD-390 and MD-391 are made from aluminum which has several advantages over other casing materials such as plastic or steel. Next to being extremely lightweight and sturdy, the aluminum case of the MD-390 and MD-391 conducts heat much better and thus draws away the heat from the hard drive while it is in operation. This leads to a much cooler hard drive that can run without a fan and therefore without any noise.

Maximum compatibility

The MD-390 and MD-391 offer maximum compatibility in terms of operating systems and older USB technologies such as USB 2.0 and USB 1.1. The hard drive cases work with all Windows and Mac operating systems, including Windows 8. They are fully Plug-and-Play and are ready to be used within seconds. They support every standard SATA HDD and don't have an HDD capacity limit. The LED indicator allow for simple device diagnostic.
