Default TSMC will remain on top says retiring CEO

TSMC is not going away any time soon

TSMC will remain an industry leader thanks to growth driven by the Internet of Things (IoT), automotive, high-performance computing (HPC) and mobile.

According to its retiring chairman Morris Chang who is dubbed the father of Taiwan’s semiconductor industry said he expects driverless taxis in 10-20 years and sees artificial intelligence (AI) replacing many doctors.

Talking to Reuters he said that TSMC will be right there, ahead of anybody, with others to the upper limits of technology.
