| Sitecom releases two new Wi-Fi N300 range extenders Two new range extenders let users easily boost the range of their wireless coverage to provide for a stable connection in all rooms and eliminate "dead spots". With two different designs, the end-user can easily pick the model that fits best into the existing home network. Rotterdam (The Netherlands), November 2012 - The majority of households surfs the Internet wirelessly. But a lack of wireless coverage is typical in certain areas of the house such as the attic, the hobby room in the basement or the garden. Two new range extenders from Sitecom make it easy for end-users to extend the reach of the wireless network to those hard-to-reach areas and eliminate "dead spots". The range extenders provide for a stable connection in all rooms. Both models are based on 802.11n wireless technology and support transfer speed of up to 300 Mbps, ideal for streaming video content, online gaming and heavy downloads. The WLX-2001 is a desktop model with an integrated 5-port switch and the WLX-2003 comes in a space saving wall mount design and can simply be plugged into an available power outlet. Ease-of-use As range extenders pick up the wireless signal of the router to amplify it, they have to be positioned correctly at a location where there is still a good wireless signal. Both range extenders from Sitecom feature LED indicators to find the ideal position. With three different stages encompassing "poor signal", "medium signal" and "excellent signal", they provide ample feedback for the end-user to achieve a maximum boost of the wireless signal. Both range extenders can be configured within minutes via the OPS button or the installation wizard. The OPS option is ideal for users who have a (modem) router with the same functionality. For all other users the range extender can be setup with the installation wizard which is made available over a web interface, no software has to be installed. WLX-2003 The WLX-2003 Wi-Fi Range Extender N300 comes in a compact wall mount design and can be plugged directly into an available power outlet. Thanks to the compact size and neutral design, the WLX-2003 blends in nicely with any surroundings. The space-saving design allows for hassle-free set-up without blocking other power and helps end-users to stay clear of messy wires. WLX-2001 The WLX-2001 Wi-Fi Range Extender N300 is a desktop model with an integrated switch. The 5 Fast Ethernet ports support wired transfer speed of up to 100 Mbps. The WLX-2001 is ideal to connect wired devices in a home office environment such as a desktop computer or printer but also offers an ideal setup in any gaming or entertainment room to connect a game console or a Smart TV. Compatibility Both range extenders support all existing security standards (64/128-bit WEP, WPA, and WPA2) to guarantee compatibility with any (modem) router and are also backward compatible with the older wireless technologies 802.11b and 802.11g. The new WLX-2003 Wi-Fi Range Extender N300 and the WLX-2001 Wi-Fi Range Extender N300 are available now and come with the extensive 10-year Sitecom warranty.
