| Single core still rules the gaming world In the everlasting battle of AMD versus Intel, currently Intel has the nod with 53.19% of all users on steam, while AMD held 46.80%. However, results do not sound so good for Intel, since 76.06% of all users own a single-core processor, predominately Intel Pentium 4. Over a third of users own a processor with clocks from 2.3 to 3.29 GHz in Intel world, while 21.06% owners of AMD processors like clockspeed of 2.0-2.3 GHz. http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=41474

| Sounds rather expected considering the largest percentage of these same users own just a 6600 GPU, followed by: Nvidia 6600 Nvidia 7600 FX 5200 ATI 9600 |

| Damn My 3.4 Ghz C2D, X-FI XtremeGamer and overclocked X1950 XT running on a 23" widescreen at 1920x1200 still aren't enough to keep from getting my *** kicked by a 14 year old kid apparently on a 2.4 Ghz P4 with a GF 6600. Oh well, at least my bloodied body crumbling to the concrete looks and sounds FANTASTIC now! |
