Default Silverfall Performance Evaluation

While Silverfall is graphically pretty advanced, and won't mind a good video card, the game is actually very dependent on your processor. We tested the game across different processors and video cards, and the quick summary is that the game is mostly processor-limited. At High settings your video card also matters to a point, but even with something like an ATI Radeon X1950XT in the system, the frame rates scale almost linearly based on your processor speed - use a 30% slower one, get 25% less frames per second. Dual core doesn't help as the engine is completely single-threaded, so a fast single-core system gives you a better result than a low-end dual core processor. The flipside of this is that Silverfall runs fine at Medium settings, even on a slightly older graphics card, for example a NVIDIA GeForce 6800GT .
