Seagate has introduced its new Mobile HDD line of internal HDDs meant to provide high capacity, high performance and amazing value, all in a standard 2.5-inch 7mm-thick form factor.

The new Seagate Mobile HDD lineup will be available in 1TB and 2TB capacities and is a decent alternative to a high-priced SSDs, at least when capacity is more important than performance. According to the specification list, the new Mobile HDD lineup will provide up to 100MB/s of sequential performance, feature 128MB DRAM buffer, standard SATA 6Gbps interface and consume 1.7W under load and 0.5W in idle.
