Default Seagate Rolls Out 8TB 'Customer Development' HDDs

This week Seagate introduced its major commercial customers to a preview of what may be coming in the not-so-distant-future of massive storage HDD's. Samples of 8TB hard drives were shipped to preferred customers for testing and feedback on the new drives. Keeping in mind that Seagate talks about 8TB "customer development units", the actual commercial drives of such capacity are probably several quarters, if not years, away from mass production and adoption.
