Samsung has said that it will announce this month the results of an investigation into what caused some of its Galaxy Note 7 smartphones to catch fire.

Since the embarrissing recall, Samsung has been rather quiet on the cause of the fault which caused its Note 7's to melt. At the time it claimed it was a battery problem but the smart money is on the phone being too thin for its battery.

The South Korean firm said in October it was examining all aspects of the phone, suggesting there may be a combination of factors that contributed to the problem.
