Military facepalm

A Russian commander with an apparent habit of posting his running routes on social media has been shot dead while jogging in Krasnodar.

Stanislav Rzhytsky was the deputy head of the department for mobilisation and was the former commander of the Krasnodar submarine, which has been used to launch missile strikes against Ukrainian cities.

Ukraine has claimed responsibly for his assassination and Rzhytsky’s death was confirmed by Russia’s state TASS news agency which said a police investigation into the killing was underway.

Rzhytsky was fond of posting details of his runs on the exercise app Strava, on which runners record their runs and compete online against other users. It was not as if he saw any need to be quiet about it he has a profile unde
