Default Raidmax Agusta - Hands on Preview

The black/white final color scheme looks really nice and classy. Although, the black/blue color scheme would also look good, maybe this will appear on version 2.0! The USB3.0 and the fan controller that controls up to 5 fans is also good to see on this case. The cool addition, which we did not expect, was the LED light controller. This is a great addition because some people leave their computers on at night, and the LED's create a nice, bright, annoying night light. The Agusta can handle our GTX480 with ease, so fitting any graphics card on the market will be simple. The thumbscrews on the PCI slots were a convenient touch as well.

With the Agusta being compartmentalized, it brought back memories of the TJ11 we reviewed a little while back, and the Thermaltake Level 10, although not to the full extent of the TT level 10. Compartments are always a good idea in order to help with heat issues and keep everything cooler by controlling important areas better with air flow. The ability to install two 2.5″ drives to the inside of the 5.25″ drive bay area is a nice touch indeed. This will give you the capacity to have eight 2.5″ drives installed or six 3.5″ drives and two 2.5″ drives at full capacity. Although, you could do whatever type of configuration you would like.

The two things we were weary about were the side panel handles and the Gundam front door. The handles seemed a bit too weak for our liking, and we were scared we might snap one off before we finished the review. The Gundam front door seemed like it would be somewhat easy to snap off as well, if it were open and you hit it with your knee or foot and bent it back past the normal range of movement. Hopefully, this will be addressed before mass production.

If Raidmax fixes a few minor issues and keeps up the hard work, this case, with an MSRP of $119.99, could really be a contender when it is finally released.
