| R420, NV40 Get Names and Birthdates this is starting to change into 'the art of waiting'... eta on nvidia's nv40 is 14/4... next week... however no hardwaregeek can buy an nv40 without knowing how the competition will fare... being the r420 scheduled for release on april 24th according to anandtech...all is very well, you'd think... however the high speedversion of the radeon part is scheduled for 31/5... which is one month later... so you cannot buy a hi-end card knowing that four weeks later it will be replaced at the hi-end with the true hi-end card... so that means waiting for the gpu change till beginning of june... We also know that socke939 will be late... probably june too... it's starting to look like the gaming industry I NEED A NEW SETUP BEFORE MIDJUNE AND IT HAS TO BE FASTER THAN MY CURRENT SETUP BY AT LEAST 20 %. Failure of hardwarevendors to comply will result in horrid, gruesome death.

| wild guess but I'm thinking the hardware sites will get review samples long before you will be able to get your hands on either one of these high end cards. In fact, they probably already got some review samples and reviewed them since the nvidia will be out so soon, they are probably waiting for the word "go" from nvidia to publish their reviews... |
