Icon17 PowerColor Announces HD 2600 & 2400 Series

PowerColor Announces More DX10 Gaming Graphics Boards will be on Sale in July with HD 2600 & 2400 Series

DX10 Gaming, HD 1080p, Universal Video Decode (UVD), HDMI with 5.1 Surround Sound Arrives to Mainstream and Value Segments

Taipei, Taiwan – June 28, 2007 – TUL Corporation – the leading manufacturer of ATI graphics cards today announces the availability of mainstream and value DX10 graphics cards in July with HD 2600 and HD 2400. Both model series offer: DX10 support, HD 1080p, Universal Video Decode, HDMI with surround sound; previously only available on the HD 2900 XT for next-generation gaming and HD video viewing capabilities.

PowerColor’s HD 2600 will be introduced in four models: HD2600 XT GDDR4, HD2600 XT GDDR3, HD2600 PRO 512MB and HD2600 PRO 256MB. The HD2400 will be introduced in five models: HD2400 XT GDDR3 with HDMI dongle, HD2400 XT, HD2400 PRO Passive Edition, HD 2400 PRO DDR2.

DirectX 10 Gaming
Upcoming popular gaming titles will require DX10 gaming support, which will be supported by HD 2600 and HD 2400. This enables games to increase the level of realism by enhancing details and complexity in gaming worlds.

Built-In HDMI with 5.1 Surround Sound
HDMI allows for single connection from the graphics card to the output device with HD visual and audio capabilities. This is truly a unique and break-through technology from ATI graphics providers.

HD Video & Audio
With 1080p playback of Blu-ray and HD DVDs, users can experience videos with sharp images and vibrant colors. Both HD 2600 and HD 2400 processors feature UVD (Unified Video Decoder) technology, that allows for offloading of video decoding from the CPU to the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) to significantly lower system power consumption. This is particularly important for media center PCs (because lower power consumption means quieter cooling solutions).
