| Pentium 4 Chipsets from VIA to Be Announced This Month VIA PT894 Showcased at CES About a month ago we have already shared with you some details regarding the upcoming Pentium 4 chipsets from VIA (see this news story for details). At CES 2005 in Las Vegas more interesting details about the situation in the chipsets market and VIA’s plans appeared revealed. Of course, VIA representatives specifically stressed their increasing successful production of the K8T890 chipsets, which started in full swing about two weeks ago. So, finally it looks like we are going to start seeing more and more mainboards on K8T890/Pro from VIA’s partners, such as Albatron, Soltek and others emerging in the shelves. At the company booth VIA again demonstrated a system built around K8T890 Pro with the two graphics cards - the X300 and the X600 - running simultaneously and transferring data to three monitors. As we have already mentioned in our news earlier, this configuration supports maximum up to 4 monitors. As for the Pentium 4 chipsets, the situation promises to turn really exciting in a couple of weeks, when VIA will be launching three new solutions: PT880 Pro (supporting both: AGP and PCI Express), PT894 and PT894 Pro. At the Consumer Electronics Show VIA was demonstrating a running reference platform based on PT894 solution supporting FSB 1066MHz, LGA775 Intel Pentium 4 processors, but using the same old VT8237 South Bridge. http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/chipset...112143609.html
