| Pentagon accuses China of hacking In the Pentagon's annual report to Congress, it has accused China, yet again, of hacking US establishments in an effort to gain industrial and defence secrets. The report alleges that China wants to build up its technology base by borrowing US tech. In addition, China is apparently trying to learn how the US Government feels about it internally, which is hardly surprising given the hundreds of billions of dollars America owes to China. Perhaps they just want to make sure Uncle Sam is not a deadbeat who will skip town and stick Canada with the bill. Although the US has accused China of hacking in the past, this is the first time the Pentagon has made such a direct allegation. “China is using its computer network exploitation capability to support intelligence collection against the U.S. diplomatic, economic, and defence industrial base sectors that support U.S. national defence programs,” said the report. Although defence contractors top the Pentagon’s list of concerns, China is allegedly hacking tech companies and media such as the New York Times, reports VentureBeat. http://news.techeye.net/security/pen...ina-of-hacking |
