Default Overclocking Threadripper 7000 series causes a blown fuse

We know you modified it

Overclocking AMD's Ryzen Threadripper 7000 series blows a fuse, indicating modification. However, AMD has told Tom's Hardware that this does not automatically invalidate the warranty of these top-tier workstation CPUs.

AMD said that Threadripper 7000 Series processors contain a fuse that is blown when overclocking is enabled.

“To be clear, blowing this fuse does not void your warranty. Statements that enabling an overclocking/overvolting feature will 'void' the processor warranty are incorrect. The warranty excludes any damage from overclocking/overvolting the processor per AMD's standard Terms of Sale. However, unrelated issues could still qualify for warranty repair/replacement," an AMD representative said.

So any rumours that overclocking a Ryzen Threadripper Pro 7000 or non-Pro processor voids the warranty are rubbish, however, any damages directly resulting from overclocking will.

AMD isn't against overclocking in fact it advertises overclocking support as one of the features of the WRX90 and TRX50 platforms. However, it does warn that this does not apply to OEM systems.
