| Obduction (Myst Sequel) VR Review Cyan, back in the 90's, were the leaders of technical achievement with the original release of Myst and it's sequel Riven; So it comes as no surprise when I say that Obduction follows through with that ideology. It is a technical marvel. With advanced lighting and global illumination to clever use of stylized textures that are done a similar vein to Overwatch, Cyan proves that they still have what it takes. I almost forgot to mention the FMV's! Yes, this game has full motion video incorporated into it and its in full 3D! Thanks to Cyan putting VR first in a lot of its design decisions, they chose to go with a 3D video setup for all the characters and videos in game. This immensely helps VR in so many ways its hard to explain other than simply stating "That man behind the door looks like a real person standing in from of me. This is actually insane". As many of you already know, Obduction is god damn amazing in VR. Where most games are good in VR this is the first where I felt "this is great" even after the first 2 hours. Without going on a massive ramble about how amazing it is I will explain my feelings with this: Obduction is the only VR game that has given me true presence. I forgot I was in a virtual world more times than I can count. I would forget I had a controller, forget I was in a room, and believe that I was in some alien world. This would have been fine if I didn't keep running into the walls of my room, my face is seriously starting to hurt. https://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/comm..._of_obduction/
