| NVIDIA's GeForce 300M series: nothing new on the mobile front Seven new cards, exciting stuff right? Unfortunately no as for one, the 'new' GPUs, despite being part of a fresh series, are based on older technology. Since 'bring ye no Fermi' seems to be Nvidia's motto until at least March, maybe April, the GeForce 300M line is quite similar to its predecessor, the 200M family which was introduced this past summer. The GeForce GTS 360M for example has the same number of Processing Cores as the 260M - 96, the same 128-bit memory interface and the same support for GDDR5 memory clocked at up to 2000 MHz. The difference between the two offers comes from the name and performance, the 360M being listed as delivering 413 Gigaflops, while the 260M tops 396 Gflops. http://www.tcmagazine.com/comments.php?id=31758&catid=2
