Default Nvidia Pricing GTX 200M Series Aggressively

The Geforce GTX 280M is priced at $430 and the GTX 260M is priced at $320 which is a big departure from the traditionally high prices for Nvidia's mGPUs. The SLI kits are priced at $700 & $500 respectively. For comparison sakes, the older (65nm G92) 9800 GTX is still priced at a whopping $695. Uninformed buyers who may think higher price equates higher performance, may make the simple mistake of downgrading for more money.

Comparatively, the Mobility Radeon HD 4800 series is priced reasonably with the 4870 kit going for $375. The previous ATI flagship mGPU Mobility 3870 was introduced at $349. Obviously ATI does not need to resort to any cuts in price and they can afford to put more price pressure on Nvidia while offering a more competitive match up.
