Default Nokia X5 gets officially announced in China

Helio P60 SoC and 5.86-inch HD+ screen

HMD Global has announced its latest Nokia mid-range smartphone, the Nokia X5, which is also known as the Nokia 5.1 Plus. Available only in China, at least for now, it comes with rather impressive specifications for a mid-range smartphone.

Featuring a 5.86-inch 1520x720 resolution notched touchscreen protected by a 2.5D curved glass, the Nokia X5 can brag an 84 percent screen-to-body ratio and a cool design with a glass back, something we don't see in recent mid-range/entry-level smartphones.

The Nokia X5 is powered by Mediatek's Helio P60 SoC, featuring four Cortex-A73 and four Cortex-A53 cores as well as Mali-G72 MP3 GPU. The rest of the specifications include a dual rear camera with main 13-megapixel and a secondary 5-megapixel sensor, 8-megapixel front camera, 3,060mAh battery and Android 8.1 Oreo. HMD Global was also keen to note that the phone will get Android P as soon as it goes out.

The Nokia X5 is available in black, white and blue color options. Unfortunately, it is currently only available in China in two versions, standard 3GB/32GB version priced at CNY 999 (US $150) and 4GB/64GB version, priced at CNY 1399 (US $210). There were rumors that it should also launch worldwide as Nokia 5.1 Plus so hopefully we will see it soon.
