Default Noctua shows massive CPU passive cooler prototype

Computex 2019: 1.5kg heavy and can handle Core i9-9900K

Among other things, Noctua showed an interesting and massive prototype passive CPU cooler at the Computex 2019 show, one that can handle up to 180W and can passively cool down Intel's Core i9-9900K.

Pictured originally by Richard Swinburne and posted at his Twitter, the prototype weighs 1.5kg, has seven heatpipes, and 1.5mm thick aluminum fins.

Although still in prototype stage, the CPU cooler is said to be able to cool down 120W TDP CPUs in a normal case, or even up to 180W, when placed in a case with good airflow or paired up with some fans.

It will be interesting to see if Noctua will push it out of the prototype phase and come up with an actual product based on it.
