| New Ryzen 5000s out by the end of the year Still based on Zen 3 AMD is not completely giving up on Zen 3 and is planning a range of Ryzen 5000s based around the tech which will be out soon. Ryzen 5000 processors based on the Zen 3 have been with us since 2020 and have been leading against the 10th and 11th generation Intel Cores. Since Chipzilla released its Intel Alder Lake CPUs (12th generation) the 5000s have lost a lot of their glamour. The new 5000s will not leave Intel too far ahead. 3D. V-cache allows AMD to stack a processor’s L3 cache memory on multiple layers. According to a leak from brand specialist Greymon55, AMD is planning new Ryzen 5000 models with 3D V-cache. The question is why would AMD bother when it is about to release 7000 series based on Zen 4. The reason seems to be price. The 5000s will be cheaper and allow users wishing to upgrade their PC configuration to change only their CPU for a Ryzen 5000 (which therefore remains in AM4). They can keep the rest of the components and extend the duration of life until it dies of old age. Ryzen 7000 based on Socket AM5 will involve changing essential components, motherboard and RAM, DDR4. This will mean a big cost compared to the Ryzen 5000X3D. According to Greymon55, we should know more about these new Ryzen 5000X3Ds during July. https://fudzilla.com/news/pc-hardwar...nd-of-the-year |
