| Mozilla announces Firefox Mobile OS The WebOS platform is virtually extinct due to stiff competitions from iOS and Android, but more than anything else, the WebOS “technology wasn’t there yet.” Paul Mercer, former senior director of the WebOS project, claimed that WebOS was “ahead of its time.” So perhaps now is the time for a web based mobile OS to take on the challenge.
