| Mobo Makers Confirm May AM2 Launch The availability of AMD’s next-generation CPUs – the Turion 64 X2 mobile and Socket-AM2 processors – will still follow the chip vendor’s May schedule, according to unnamed motherboard makers that have recently received this confirmation from AMD, in response to speculation, on the part of some PC makers, that the schedule had been put back to June, on insufficient utilization and capacity concerns.
