| M-Audio to be acquired by Avid Technology The Boston Business Journal reports that for a few million dollars ($80 Million and $84.5 Million in stock) Avid Technology, known best for their video and audio editing products, will take over ownership of M-Audio. M-Audio has long been considered one of the best manufacturers of high-end professional quality audio components for the desktop PC. M-Audio has released a Q&A session to help explain what will and will not change. This might be just the combination of forces the doctor ordered to bring a bit more competition to the PC audio industry which is currently dominated by Creative Labs and their Soundblaster products. http://www.anandtech.com/news/shownews.aspx?i=22752
