| Intel rebounds a bit Might be hope in the old dinosaur yet Chipzilla, which has been having a rough time of it lately, surprised the cocaine nose jobs of Wall streets with a a rare moment of financial outperformance. The figures announced yesterday seem to suggest that Pat [kicking] Gelsinger's glorious four year plan might be on track. The company’s shares rose 8.1 per cent in after-market trading on Thursday after the earnings report, taking their total gain this year to 36 per cent. Intel’s sales of PC chips fell 12 per cent in the second quarter, to $6.8 billion, but that was better than the 21 per cent decline analysts had been expecting and marked a big improvement from the 38 per cent collapse of the first quarter. Intel chief financial officer David Zinsner said that while the PC market is likely to return to “normal” trading conditions in the second half, an inventory overhang is set to weigh on the company’s data centre business for the rest of this year. https://fudzilla.com/news/57328-intel-rebounds-a-bit |
