Default Intel Pentium E2160 and Pentium E2140

But are these intriguing newcomers as attractive as their counterparts from Core 2 Duo family? We are going to answer this question with our extensive performance and overclocking tests!

evga 650i board ~$100
DDR2 667 2 x 1 GB ~$70
E2160 ~$90

Nice upgrade from X2

My laptop using the cheapo 2060T @1.6 Gz 1 mb cache scores 4.5 CPU, 4.3 memory in Vista; wish I could oc it.

It would have been nice if he'd also compared thermal output between the AMD's & Intel's. I'm considering both for HTPC use.

at stock speeds, they'll be easily kept cool with a larger passive, or smaller slow fanned heatsink

Damn. Just when I thought I'd narrowed down to a 690G MB and low power AM2 x2...
