Core i9-9900K at 5GHz is Regular Nitrogen

John Bonini, a Vice President, General Manager Desktop, Workstations, Gaming at Intel came out with a great tweet.

John tweeted calling the Intel Core i9 9900K at 5GHz Regular Nitrogen. Give credit where credit is due, and Intel manages to get its 14nm+++ processor all the way to 5GHz with air-cooling while AMD eight-core Ryzen 7 3800X is struggling with 7nm 4.5GHz single boost core clock. The base clock for Ryzen 7 3800X is 3.9GHz and let’s mention that Intel is about to launch i9 9900KS all cores at 5GHz ready for the holiday season.

The tweet was a reaction on AMD was marketing video claims that Ryzen pro can hit 5GHz and Anthony @ Tweaktown mentioned that this wouldn’t be possible even with LN2. In the meantime, hard working people at AMD marketing have removed the video.

The Core i9 9900K still does a much better job compared to AMD’s competition in gaming, as this is where Intel still dominates. One can just imagine what will happen when intel gets to 10nm desktop parts, and the fact that it can win against AMD’s latest greatest with very optimized 14nm doesn’t look good for the team read.

Intel i9 9900KS is right around the corner, all cores at 5GHz.
