| Intel Core i7 Expected 3 November Before the launch of the Core i7 which will take place early November samples will be shipped to different media for review purposes. Apparently one of the conditions of these samples will be that no overclocked results may be reported? This quite weird as both motherboard and CPUs are promoted and build for extreme performance beyond rated specs. Most likely Intel will make overclocking possible on their Extreme Edition CPUs, while the more affordable models will come with a multiplier and FSB lock, making overclocking impossible. Overclocking was all about more bang for your buck, but with overclock options only available on the most expensive models, this point is no longer valid.
