Default Intel aggressive in promoting CULV CPUs

Intel is aggressively promoting sales of its upcoming consumer ultra low voltage (CULV) platform offering steep discounts to leading notebook vendors, according to notebook makers.

The highest volume vendors – HP, Acer and Dell– have been offered CPU unit pricing of US$65, well below the expected list price for low-end models of US$152, while brand vendors including Asustek and MSI have been quoted as low as US$70-75, the sources claimed.
