We will never see it because America says we can't

Huawei is about to release its new MatePad series tablet which has a soft screen that removes 90 per cent of reflections.

The new tablet is the Huawei MatePad 11-inch 2023 model, which has two configurations: LCD version and soft screen. The soft screen version is the main model this time around. The company revealed these devices in a new preheating video.

The soft light variant is the company’s first soft light tablet. In a bid to reduce the impact of light, including sunshine and other light sources, the screen can provide diffuse reflection. In addition, it restores a pleasant experience of pen and paper by writing with a paper-like feel.

The Huawei MatePad 11 2023 has already been shown to have strong handwriting damping, no glare, and no reflection. Huawei customer service also offers lifetime screen cleaning services, and it works similarly to a paper film.

There are some darker sides to this story. The tablet will also include Harmony OS 3.1 for the first time as its operating system, presumably to avoid US sanctions. There have been major upgrades to the animation and system stability in this version of Harmony, as well as to the animation of the notification panel and the choice of widget layout.

We expect to hear more details at the upcoming Huawei event on 23 March in Shanghai.
