| HMD unveils the Nokia 7.1 mid-ranger 5.85-inch HDR10 screen and Snapdragon 636 SoC HMD Global has officially unveiled the new Nokia 7.1 smartphone, an affordable mid-range smartphone built around a decent 5.84-inch screen with a notch and powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 636 octa-core SoC, all for $349. The main selling point of the new Nokia 7.1 is the PureDisplay notched 5.84-inch screen with 2280x1080 resolution and support for HDR10. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 and has pretty slim bezels. The Nokia 7.1 has a glass back with aluminum frame and measures at 149.7x71.2x8mm (5.89x2.80x0.31-inch), tipping the scales at 160g. The heart of the Nokia 7.1 is Qualcomm's octa-core Snapdragon 636 SoC with eight Kryo 260 cores clocked at up to 1.8GHz and Adreno 509 GPU. This is the same SoC that Xiaomi is using in its mid-range Redmi Note 6 Pro. The SD 636 SoC is paired with either 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, or 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. It also has a microSD card slot. When it comes to shooters, Nokia 7.1 has a front 8-megapixel camera with support AI face unlock, while the rear comes with a dual camera setup with 12-megapixel f/1.8 main camera and 5-megapixel black and white one, both with Zeiss optics. The rest of the specifications include LTE Cat. 6 with 300Mbps DL/50Mbps UL, 802.11ac WiFi with Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/AGPS+GLONASS and NFC, 3.5 mm headphone jack, single speaker, USB Type-C, and 3,060mAh battery. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and is a part of Android One, so it will get upgraded to Android 9.0 Pie in November. According to Nokia, the Nokia 7.1 will be up for pre-order as of today, with a price starting at $349/€319 and is available in Gloss Midnight Blue and Gloss Steel color options. The shipping date is set for October 28th. https://fudzilla.com/news/mobile/473...7-1-mid-ranger |
