| Google wants Chromebooks to last ten years School administrators give it a poor report Google is working to push back the expiration date of Chromebooks, addressing concerns held by school administrators that the laptops are too short-lived to be cost effective. Google said that it plans to provide software updates for Chromebooks for up to a decade.
