Google Drive on iOS: "no internet connection" issue

Recently found myself staring at an "no internet connection" error when trying to access Google Drive on my iOS iPhone and iPad device. Verified internet connection= working. Tried over both wifi and 3G = same issue. Reinstalled the google drive app; still same issue!

reboot of the ios device solved it! how stupid of me not having tried that first , doh

just thought I'd share this random bit of troubleshooting as google search didn't really turn up any solutions when trying the keyboards "google drive ios no internet connection", except for some marketing talk about the product. Hope this will change now
