Default GeForce GTX 560 Ti Power Consumption Protection Analysis

Since the release of GTX 580,we have noticed that its performance is not only better than GTX 480 thanks to more CUDA core and higher frequency, but it also features better power consumption, which is due to NVIDIA’s circuit optimization. As it specially sets power consumption monitoring circuit, which provides real-time monitoring of current and voltage on each 12V rail(8-pin,6-pin,PCIE).

The power consumption mechanism dynamically adjusts performance mainly in two stress apps——Furmark and OCCT,they are two commonly-used extreme loaded software, bringing much higher loading towards graphics than 3D gaming, which are said to be the "nightmare" of high-performance graphics.

Once the protection mechanism monitors too heavy loading with graphics,it will dynamically lower the frequency of graphics card, and further lower the power consumption.NVIDIA’s main aim is to protect the graphics card from being destroyed by high loading, certainly it has influence people’s knowing towards real power consumption triggering some controversy.
